We have now spent two days at Nusa Penida southeast from Bali. We had made some plans for what we wanted to see on this island and we did accomplished to see them all. We spent our nights at Batan Sabo cottages. It seems like a Layback place for backpackers. The price is nice, but you are bound to a scooter or car because of the distance to shops and tourist attractions. But the bungalows are only one year old and the boys who works there are nice, but pretty unreliable when it comes to time. So you have to estimate enough time if you are going somewhere.

Day 1:

We rented a scooter for a day for 75000 rp and drove to Crystal bay. The ride was going to take 20 minutes in “local people time”, but as we are such gringos we used about 30-40 minutes. The road was bumpy, and the hills was really steep. Stine actually had to walksome places while Christoffer was driving the scooter in fear of the brakes collapsing.

We ended up in Crystal Bay where we snorkeled for the first time this trip. The water was really clear and the beach was really nice even though there were a lot of tourists there.

In the evening we drove to a hotel just a 5-minute scooter ride from our bungalow called Semabo hills hotel. It is a really delightful hotel with good food and drinks. It looks pretty luxuries.

The rest of the night we used to plan the sightseeing trip for our second day. We have booked a car from 0800 in the morning to go to Keling King beach so that we will arrive before all he other tourists.

Day 2:

Today we ordered breakfast at 0730 because we were supposed to have a care and driver picking us up at 8. But we received our breakfast which was two banana pancakes and two orange juices at 8 o`clock. But it did not matter because our car did not arrive before 0835.

But after a 60 minute bumpy ride we arrived at Keling king. It is a absolutely stunning view with the mountain shaped like a Tyrannosaurus rex. Chris got to use his drone and we also got some nice pictures taken. There were actually 11 manta rays present in the ocean just beside the Keling King. We did not go all the way down the path over the “back of the dinosaur”, because it was really windy, and we did not feel like we had the appropriate footwear. But it is possible to walk all the way down to the beach at the bottom holding on to the rail made up of bamboo. Good luck!

After the Keling King we drove 30 minutse on “hang- on”- road and finally reached Broken beach and Angels billabong.
Broken beach is a nice site to see, but unfortunately there is a lot of tourists there, throwing garbage and not taking care of the place. But we got to see two more manta rays which was really big.
We only stayed at Angels billabong for 1 minute because it was totally crowded with people and we had no chance of taking any good photos.
