Yesterday, we travelled all the way from Norway to Indonesias touristcapital, Bali. The trip took exactly 24 hours with a two hour wait in Dubai airport.

After a 1,5 hour taxitrip from Ngurah Rai international airport to Ubud city.
Ubud is known to be a city with a lot of tourists and touristattractions, but we had decided that we wanted to see all the beautiful temples that Ubud is surrounded with, and leave the fear of tourists at home.

Bali is an island and a province in Indonesia. Its capital are Denpasar which lay almost all the way south on the island.
From east to vest, the island is 153 km wide and 112 km from south to north and has a total of 5416,4 km2 as total areal. Bali is famous for all its arts and crafts, included dancing.

Ubud City is as mentioned a very popular place to go for tourists from all over the world. It is famous for all its temples and waterfalls that gives you perfect pictures.
Many says that the history of Ubud is the same as Bali itself. Back in the eight century, the Javanese Hindu priest Rsi Marhandya came from another island in Indonesia, called Java.
He meditated at the confluence of two rivers in Ubud. In this area he funded a temple, called Gunung Lebah Temple, which still remains as a pilgrim destination.

Originally ubud was a big source of medicinal herbs and plants, which is the way the town got its name. The Balinese word "Ubad" means medicine.

Over the years the areas around Gunung Lebah temple has expanded and become Ubud City.

The trip from Norway to Ubud went perfectly with no hickups. The flights where on time and we arrived at our Airbnb destination around 6 pm local time.

The Kubu Tropis garden is a new house with nice rooms. Every room has its own bathroom and shower and serves okay breakfast. It is very close to city centre of Ubud and just a short walkingdistance from Monkey Forest. The only thing that would be negative in our oppinion is that the waterpressure in the shower is very bad. So for the girls who has long hair, do not wash your hair with shampoo, because it will take an hour to get all the shampoo out!

The first evening was ended by eating an okay dinner at Umah restaurant close to Kubu Tropis Garden. It is a very popular restaurant where people wait in line to get a table, but we where not exactly positively surprised by the food.
The pizza we ordered was okey, but nothing more than that. I would have given it a 3/6 on the dice.

Tomorrow we will visit some touristattractions around Ubud together with all the other tourists.

Have a nice day!
